Get Started with our initial Visit
Comprehensive Examination
As a new patient to our office, Dr. Cooper will perform a complete dental examination and address any specific concerns you may have regarding your mouth. The goal of a comprehensive exam requires a review of dental and medical history, a conversation with you about your viewpoint of your dental condition and dental experiences, a clinical examination with proper recording of findings and an x-ray examination.
We will take the necessary radiographs (x-rays) at the beginning of your visit. If you have current x-rays (within the year) and they are of sufficient quality and type, we may be able to use them instead of taking new x-rays.
Clinical Evaluation

Treatment Plans
We will discuss some basic principles of the gums and teeth in order to provide you with a better understanding of conditions you might have. This information will also help serve as a basis for understanding the preventive measures of brushing and flossing that we recommend you follow. We will also review the dental materials that are used in the currently available tooth colored fillings.
Upon completion of the comprehensive evaluation, we will make recommendations, along with any options that may pertain to your individual situation. We will provide a written summary of our recommendations with associated fees in what we refer to as a Treatment Plan. If sufficient insurance information has been obtained, these costs should reflect your insurance benefit contribution to the plan. Please note that the insurance amounts we quote are only an estimate and it does not guarantee insurance company coverage of that procedure. This Treatment Plan will be thoroughly explained to you and allow you to ask any follow up questions.
After your visit is complete, you will leave knowing the order and type of treatment for your future visits. If you have any questions after you leave the office, please call or e-mail us. We will respond promptly.
